Default Model Group definition

The Default Model Group is one of two default asset groups created during installation; the other is the Root Asset Group, which is the immediate parent of the Default Model Group. Neither of these asset groups can be deleted. If desired, you can change their names and descriptions from the View and manage asset groups page.

This asset group is the Parent Asset Group for all asset groups created by default for new models. The default model asset groups may be created when you manually add a model to the Platform, or, if auto-creation of models is enabled for the Axeda® Platform, when a new asset registers with the Platform.

The Root Asset Group and the Default Model Group are unique in the Platform in that they can contain multiple asset groups. No other asset group can contain more than one asset group.
